January 01 FIVE FINGER PRAYERTHE FIVE FINGER PRAYER
This is so neat. I had never heard this before... This is beautiful - 1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you. " Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively. October 20 Two Way MirrorsTWO WAY MIRRORS I thought this was interesting, and wanted to pass this to you. Do you know how determine if a mirror is 2-way or not? This is not to scare you, but to make you aware. When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (I.e., they can see you, but you can't see them)? There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at? Just conduct this simple test. Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, FOR IT IS a 2-WAY MIRROR. "No Space, Leave the Place." So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test." It doesn't cost you anything Remember: "No Space, Leave the Place. It made me think about what happened where I live. In the summer a tanning booth ,just around the corner from was shut down ... Reason being... the owner of the booth had apparently installed cameras in the ceiling,so he could watch all the ladies tanning in the nude. How long it was going on...Who Knows!! It would probably be still going on if hadn't been for a Dad who had to bring his young daughter in to the tanning booth to go to the washroom. As he was waiting for his daughter..he was just looking around,and he noticed a tile in the ceiling was moved just a tiny bit , As he looked a bit more he noticed a small camera peeking through the opening of the tile. He contacted authorities immediately...Thank god. Really makes you wonder ...Doesn't it??? And to think I almost made an appointment there to tan...Glad I changed my mind about tanning!!! An option for St. Jude's gone February 14, 2006 This is so very sad!I have been following this story of Myles for a while now. Myles turns 13 yrs old tomorrow and has been told he probably has no more then 5-10 days left to live.Myles needs a miracle.If u can find it in your heart..please say a prayer for Myles and his family.
The family of Myles McLellan have lost their last medical hope for the 13-year-old who’s inspired many people with his battle against brain cancer.
The Chatham Daily News reported Monday that Myles returned home on the weekend with doctors only giving him five to 10 days to live.
Their final hope rested on the possibility of Myles who’s suffered an aggressive return of his brain cancer receiving treatment at St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., his family said on Sunday.
That hope is now also lost.
“We’ve been told there’s no solution there,” Myles’ father Wayne told The Daily News, late Monday night.
The family has asked the community to pray for Myles, because his only hope of surviving this latest bout with cancer is a miracle.
Myles, who was first diagnosed with cancer in 2002, received cards and letters from well-wishers around the world, after recently suffering a relapse. Despite the dire circumstances the young boy is in, people are still willing to do more for Myles, who has done so much for others through his Myles Miracle Mission charitable organization, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars to fight childhood cancer.
A Chatham family is organizing a benefit concert to help Myles’ family.
Patrick DeKievit said it was his wife Tina’s and son Jonathan’s idea to organize a five-band concert, scheduled to take place Feb. 27, at Twisters Night Club in Chatham.
DeKievit said the concert, dubbed “Rockin’ for Myles,” is planned to continue no matter what the circumstances are by then.
“I’m sure they could use (the money) any way it goes,” he said.
Jonathan DeKievit, who is the singer for the band Last Curtain Call, thought about organizing the concert, “because I just figured (Myles) needed some help . . . and we could put something together to try to help.”
Tina DeKievit, who has visited the website dedicated to Myles, has been moved by his plight.
“I wanted to do something basically just to help the family out,” she said.
“It’s really heart-wrenching.”
She called Myles’ mother Susan to let her know of their plans.
“It was very upsetting to talk to her (about the situation),” DeKievit said, adding Susan McLellan “was very overwhelmed” by what they’re planning.
The other bands scheduled to perform at the Rockin’ for Myles benefit concert include Rote, Arriness, A Fallen Hero and Red Rose Portrait.
Advance tickets cost $7 and are available at the CD Plus store and Twisters Night Club. Tickets will be $10 at the door.
Patrick DeKievit said the community is being supportive of the venture, noting more than 20 businesses have donated door prizes for the event.

causing the massive obesity epidemic, so did a friend of mine, John Erb. He was a research assistant at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, and spent years working for the government. He made an amazing discovery while going through
scientific journals for a book he was writing called "The Slow Poisoning of America". In hundreds of studies around the world, scientists were
creating obese mice and rats to use in diet or diabetes test studies. No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese, so the scientists have to create them. They make these morbidly obese creatures by injecting
them with MSG when they are first born. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates; causing rats (and humans?) to
become obese. They even have a title for the fat rodents they create:
"MSG-Treated Rats". I was shocked too. I went to my kitchen, checking the
cupboards and the fridge. MSG was in everything: The Campbell's soups, the Hostess Doritos, the Lays flavoured potato chips, Top Ramen, Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper, Heinz canned gravy, Swanson frozen prepared meals, Kraft salad dressings, especially the 'healthy low fat' ones. The items that didn't have MSG marked on the product
label had something called ''Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein'', which is just another name for Monosodium Glutamate. It was shocking to see just how many of the foods we feed
our children everyday are filled with this stuff. They hide MSG under many different names in order to fool those who carefully read the ingredient list, so they don't catch on. (Other names for MSG: 'Accent' - 'Aginomoto' - 'Natural Meet Tenderizer', etc) But it didn't stop there. When our family went out to eat, we started asking at the restaurants what menu items had MSG. Many employees, even the managers, swore they didn't use
MSG. But when we ask for the ingredient list, which they grudgingly provided, sure enough MSG and Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein were everywhere: Burger King McDonald's Wendy's Taco Bell And every restaurant like: TGIF, Chili's, Applebee's and
Denny's use MSG in abundance.
Even be careful at your "health food store", do not spend
your dollars on ANYTHING that has "Hydrolyzed Vegetable that is MSG.
Kentucky Fried Chicken seemed to be the WORST offender:
MSG was in EVERY chicken dish, salad dressing and gravy. No wonder I loved to eat that coating on the skin, their secret spice was MSG. When you go to your local grocery store deli, every SINGLE food there has MSG, or one of the 25 hidden names of MSG. So, why is MSG in so many of the foods we eat? Is it a preservative or a vitamin?? Not according to my friend John. In the book he wrote, an expose of the food additive
industry called "The Slow Poisoning of America" he said that MSG is added to food for the addictive effect it has on the human body. Even the propaganda website sponsored by the food

Today has not been a good day so far.
my Grandma is in the hospital..has been since last Saturday.
The sad part is she is 91 yrs old as of yesterday...and she wants to die.
She has even been refusing to eat..figuring if she does not eat she will die like
she wants to.I visited her yesterday for her Birthday...she was actually a lot better.
she has started to eat and as soon as she gets well she will be going into a beautiful
residence.The doctors told her that she has at least 3 good yrs left.
So she has decided to eat and is getting a bit excited about going to residence.
The really bad news is that my boyfriends Dad is only 55 yrs old and right now
is lying in a hospital bed ready to die. I just got back from seeing my boyfriend at the hospital.
The Minister has already been there and gone. His dads liver has shut down and pretty much
every thing else has as well. My boyfriend Rick and his dad have been distant from each other for yrs now.
I know it has bothered him as long as i have been with him.
I am just so glad he has been able to make peace with his Dad .
If not it would have killed him ....So thank god for that.
well I must go and hope the rest of my day goes better then it has been.

This is one of those e-mails that if you didn't send it, rest assured someone on your list will suffer for not reading it. The original message was written by a lady whose brother and his wife learned a hard lesson this past week. Their house burned down.. ..nothing left but ashes. They have good insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That is the good news. However, they were sick when they found out the cause of the fire. The insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for several hours. He had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her sister-in-law what she had plugged in the bathroom. She listed the normal things....curling iron, blow dryer. He kept saying to her, "No, this would be something that would disintegrate at high temperatures". Then her sister-in-law remembered she had a Glade Plug-In, in the bathroom. The investigator said that was the cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic they are made from is THIN plastic. He also said that in every case there was nothing left to prove that it even existed. When the investigator looked in the wall plug, sure enough the two prongs left from the plug-in were still in there. Her sister-in-law >had one of the plug-ins that had a small night light built in it. She said she had noticed that the light would dim and then finally go out. She would walk in to the bathroom a few hours later, and the light would be back on again. The investigator said that the unit was getting too hot, and would dim and go out rather than just blow the light bulb. Once it cooled down it would come back on. That is a warning sign . The investigator said he personally wouldn't have any type of plug in fragrance device anywhere in his house. He has seen too many places that have been burned down due to them. November 20 Quote

A Lesson in LifeEverything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
If someone hurts you, betrays you , or breaks you heart, forgive them. For they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to who you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them. Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either. You can make of your life anything you wish.
