The Bus Stop

 A fellow was driving home from work in a rainstorm.

 While he waited for a traffic light to change, he saw a young woman standing along at a bus stop

. She had no umbrella and was soaking wet. "Are you going toward Farmington?" he called. "Yes, I am," she answered. "Would you like a ride home?" "I would," she said, and she got in. "My name is Joanna Finney.

 Thank you for rescuing me." "I'm Ed Cox," he said, "and you're welcome." On the way they talked and talked. She told him about her family and her job and where she had gone to school, and he told her about himself. By the time they got to her house, the rain had stopped. "I'm glad it rained," Ed said. "Would you like to go out tomorrow after work?" "I'd love to," Joanna replied. She asked him to meet her at the bus stop, since it was near her office. They had such a good time, they went out many times after that.

 Always they would meet at the bus stop, and off they would go. Ed liked her more each time he saw her. But one night when they had a date to go out, Joanna did not appear. Ed waited at the bus stop for almost an hour. "Maybe something is wrong," he thought, and he drove to her house in Farmington. An older woman answered the door. "I'm Ed Cox," he said. "Maybe Joanna told you about me. I had a date with her tonight. We were supposed to meet at the bus stop near her office. But she didn't show up.

 Is she alright?" The woman looked at him as if he had said something strange. "I am Joanna's mother," she said slowly. "Joanna isn't here now. But why don't you come in?" Ed pointed to a picture on the mantel. "That looks just like her," he said. "It did once," her mother replied. "But that picture was taken when she was your age - about twenty years ago. A few days later she was waiting in the rain at the bus stop. A car hit her, and she was killed."

Hello Everone!!

I have to admit i am a litle slow these days  answering you all back and updating my space,sorry about that . It seems like lately i can hardly find the time to get anything done with school out,graduation. camping trip for Tanner, my son Ryan is in the hospital in Thornhill  getting a Hernia taken care of. He doesn't seem to mind to much though,the place he is staying at is called Shouldice,which is  all taken care of through his work. I checked it out  and it is beautiful,he may never want to leave..lol   

Also the house I live in is being sold,so there is a continous stream of people going through it, wasn't to bad at first but after so long it is getting a little annoying.  My niece from Belgium is also here visiting  with her newborn son for a month,his name is Ensor,what a cutie he is!!

  I could probably go  on and on  about  how many more things   I have to take care of...but I won't..lol I just wanted you all to know I haven'tt forgotten you,and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I am  going to try to at least get my space  finished today before I have to go to the school  with Tanner,the kids all have to  go today  for one last time!!!!

Anyways i can  ramble on at times.... yes Me....hahahhah

 Keith Richards is regarded as one of rock's most indestructible icons, but on April 27, 2006, the Rolling Stones guitarist proved he was human after all when he fell out of a coconut tree while vacationing in Fiji and suffered a concussion. Richards required surgery to relieve a blood clot in his brain two weeks after the fall, and the Stones were forced to postpone 15 European tour dates. "Keef" made a speedy recovery and the Stones were back to finish their tour in July.

On Feb. 1, during the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show, 140 million people watched as Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson's corset, exposing her right breast. Janet claimed that the incident was the result of a "wardrobe malfunction," but that wasn't enough to get her off the hook. She was criticized for months following the incident and was banned from attending that year's Grammy awards. Justin was allowed to attend the ceremony after agreeing to apologize on air.

Oct. 25, 2004 was probably the worst Saturday night of Ashlee Simpson's life. The singer, who was making her debut appearance on 'Saturday Night Live,' was caught lip-synching when the vocals for the wrong song came through the speakers at a time when the microphone was nowhere near Ashlee's mouth. The vocal was quickly silenced, and Ashlee did a nervous jig onstage before sulking off. She later blamed her lip-synching on a bout of acid reflux, but was ridiculed for months after the event anyway.

Michael Jackson's career became too hot to handle on Jan. 27, 1984, when the superstar's hair caught fire during the filming of a Pepsi commercial. During the sixth take of the now-infamous ad, Jacko was doused with a shower of pyrotechnic sparks, setting his hair ablaze. Jackson was taken to hospital where he was treated for second degree burns.

Few other acts have caused more controversy than Milli Vanilli -- and the drama all began with a record skip. In 1989, the German duo was on top of the world with a No. 1 debut album and a Best New Artist Grammy. But the dreadlocked "singers," Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan, didn't actually sing a note on the album -- a fact that was revealed when the duo's backing track skipped during a performance on 1990's Club MTV Tour. Musicians are accustomed to being pelted with roses and underwear during their performances, but on June 18, 2004, David Bowie was struck by an object of adoration that almost cost him his sight. About 20 minutes into a performance in Olso, Norway, the stick of a lollipop that had been thrown at the singer became wedged between his left eyeball and his eyelid. A panicked member of his entourage rushed onstage and helped him remove it and Bowie -- ever the pro -- continued the show

Metallica frontman James Hetfield knows the dangers of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. During a 1992 concert, the singer misinterpreted a stage cue and wound up standing right in the middle of a pyrotechnic stage explosion. James suffered severe second- and third-degree burns to his left arm and was unable to play guitar for the last two-thirds of the tour. After his recovery, James tattooed his left arm with a picture of flames encasing four playing cards.

Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic was a wild man when he got on stage, but his antics left more of an impression than he intended at the 1993 VMA awards. Near the conclusion of the group's performance of 'Lithium,' Krist threw his guitar into the air, only to have it hit him squarely in the head on its descent. He fell to the ground and crawled offstage while the rest of the band played on.

Pete Townshend is legendary for his intense guitar playing. But in August 1989, Pete's ax fought back with a vengeance. During a stop in Tacoma, Wash., Pete impaled his right hand on its whammy bar while performing his famous windmill move. This wasn't the only time the Who guitarist has hurt his hand. Back in 1981, Townshend punched a wall backstage during a tour, breaking several bones. Ten years later, he shattered his wrist into a dozen fragments in a bike accident that threatened to end his career.

Somewhere over Massachusetts is a bird that apparently doesn't care for '80s pop. At a 2004 radio concert in Mansfield, Cyndi Lauper was doused with a blob of bird poop while reaching for the high note in her classic hit 'Money Changes Everything.' The fowl fecal critique landed directly in Lauper's open mouth, but the Brooklyn-born rocker simply wiped her tongue on her sleeve and kept on singing.

As the newbie of the group, Michelle Williams had a lot to prove when she joined Destiny's Child. The group's May 4, 2005 appearance on BET's '106 & Park' didn?t help shed her weak-link status. During the first few seconds of DC's performance of 'Soldier,' Michelle slipped on stage and fell to the ground with a thud. Perhaps most embarrassing is that neither Kelly nor B stopped to help their fallen friend. To her credit, Michelle picked herself off, and kept on shaking while the cameras rolled, but it's an experience she'll never fully live down.

Courtney Love wanted to make big waves with her band Hole's 1994 major-label debut CD, but the circumstances around the timing of the album's success were unfortunate, to say the least. The album was set to come out one week after Love's husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, committed suicide in the couple's home outside Seattle. Hole's label released the ironically titled 'Live Through This' album anyway, and it quickly became a chart-topping alternative hit.

In 1981, after gaining a respectable following with the debut album 'Boy,' Irish band U2 was set to enter the studio to work on its follow up. But the band hit a snag when a briefcase containing all of the lyrics that Bono had penned for what became the 'October' album were stolen at a concert in Portland, Ore. Bono was forced to rewrite all of the words from memory, but the briefcase was returned 23 years later by a woman who found it in the attic of a rental home in Tacoma, Wash.
